Nyungne
At Easter time - true to tradition - we will again practice 2 sets of Nyungne, the meditation on 1000 armed Chenrezig. This particular practice clears big amounts of negative karma quickly and develops enlightened qualities. The practice of Nyungne is known for opening up the compassionate heart and helps to heal disease. Great merits are gathered for the ones completing sets of Nyungne.
The following 8 vows are usually taken as part of Nyungne practice: No killing, stealing, lying, sexual activities, alcohol, drugs or cigarettes. No use of perfume, make up, jewellery or other entertainment as well as no talking, eating or drinking at inappropriate times.
Rinpoche has said that the taking of the 8 vows should not be a hindrance to attend the Nyungne course. Therefore you may create your own version of Nyungne according to your individual capacity. Be sure to take others into consideration though. Be discreet when you eat! Breakfast and lunch will be served every second day.
