The
Small Way– Hinayana
Avoiding
harm. Methods to avoid one’s own suffering. |
The Four Noble Truths
-
Conditioned existence is
suffering. Sickness, old age, death and loss control us.
-
Suffering has a cause. We have been doing, thinking and saying things based on confusion and
disturbing emotions.
-
Suffering has an end. Enlightenment is the continuous experience of highest truth and joy.
Buddhahood.
- The way
to the end of suffering. 84,000 teachings and practice of meditation.
|
The Four Motivating Thoughts
-
Precious
opportunity: Few people ever meet Diamond Way teachings and
even fewer are able to use them.
-
Impermanence: Only the unlimited clear space of mind is lasting ,and it is uncertain
how long conditions will remain for recognizing it.
-
Causality: Former thoughts, words and actions became our present state, and right
now we are sowing the seeds for our future.
- The
reason for working with mind: Enlightenment is highest bliss; we cannot benefit others while confused
or disturbed.
